Hello, I am back from surgery. Recovery is going well and my pain has been very mild. The actual surgery itself went well, but not to plan. My doctor's exact words were "Horrible" and "1000 times worse than I expected." The problem was my bladder, bowels, and left ovary were cemented to my uterus. She ended up removing the ovary with the uterus because if something tore I could have bled to death. The risk wasn't worth it. (My mom fully agreed!) It took over 3 hours and she called another surgeon in to help her. I ended up admitted for two nights.

I don't do things half-assed!

Thankfully, surgery didn't derail my plans for 2021 too much. I was in good shape with A Quick Spell so the only thing delayed was the newsletter announcing it was available for pre-order on Amazon. (Subscribers will get a special deal for pre-ordering too, so if you want in on things like that when they happen... HINT HINT.) Other writing has been slow, but it is happening. I'm taking it easy getting back into the swing of things because healing is exhausting.

How has your 2021 been going? Kinder than mine I hope. I'm pretty sure 2021 is trying to make 2020 hold its beer. We might need a restart of the year...maybe the last few years just to be safe.

Also, I need reviews for A Quick Spell. If you'd like a copy to read and review, fill out the form below and I'll send it your way. Thanks.

Well holy crap. Scary -- and nice of the doctor to be so blunt to put you right at ease. :) However, I'm happy to hear you came through it and are recovering.

Yikes. So glad you're not in pain, but that sounds like a trying surgery. Hope you're healing well and continue to heal well.

Good to hear you got through the surgery OK! Things gluing themselves together like that isn’t good, as you know.

I’m not sure 2021 is trying to get 2020 to hold its beer… it’s more like 2020 had such a massive hangover that it doesn’t realize it’s dead yet.

Yikes! Definitely not the words you want to hear from your doctor. Glad to hear you're on the mend. Hang in there!

Ay ay ay! Glad to hear you're on the mend. Here's hoping 2021 quits stomping on you--and all of us! Happy writing in March.

Sorry to hear of your health issues! I've had seven surgeries, and they're never any fun. I hope you continue healing well.

Geez Louise! It sounds a bit like my cousin Michelle. She's had most of her internals removed, and now will make jokes about having nothing inside her. I sincerely hope that the surgery results in a better quality of life for you. You deserve a break.

Grats and woot on the book, though! That's awesome!

I hope you're well on the road to recovery and that other related things are working out for you. <3

Way to keep kicking ass, despite the obstacles.

Wow, that sounds so exhausting, and cringeworthy! I can't imagine how you could even think about writing for a long time. Hope you recover soon.

Ouch! I'm getting squeamish just reading your post. I am so happy to hear that you are on the mend. You seem just too young for that surgery...

Congrats on your new Book!

Damn. You give meaning to "don't let the bastards get you down." So glad you're on the mend.

I've pre-ordered Quick Spells, but am happy to sign up for an advance copy for an early review. :-D

So glad you made it through! 2021 is supposed to be our relief from 2020, but you don’t shake off a year like that in a month or two!

That was some op! I knew you were having something drastic done, but not that drastic. Take it easy and follow the convalescence guidance.

I'll have to duck A Quick Spell this time, I'm afraid. Things are a bit busy here. I almost opened Influenced yesterday, but ended up with something beginning with I that had been on my pile Even Longer! But at least it's on the radar :)

Wow, you do go all out. They'll be using your surgery at teaching seminars. Hope you're feeling better soon. Even when it goes well, that type of surgery takes a while for recovery.

Sorry your surgery was such a nightmare!
I'm 90% interested in reading/reviewing the book-- but I don't know that I'd be able to get it done in a timely enough manner.

I'm getting ready for the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge. And hoping to honor the wonderful women in my life on March 8 for International Women's Day.

I'm glad you're feeling okay now, but that definitely sounds awful! Good that they got the troublesome bits out, which will hopefully leave you in a much better situation.
