The first Wednesday of every month is the Insecure Writer's Support Group. Posts go up the 1st Wednesday of every month. Check it out here and join if you need support with your writing. Don't forget to stop by and say hello to the co-hosts: Gwen Gardner, Doreen McGettigan, Tyrean Martinson, Chemist Ken, and Cathrina Constantiner!

This month's question is: If you could pick one place in the world to sit and write your next story, where would it be and why?

I really just like to sit and home and write because I'm usually alone and no one can disturb me.

I'm not feeling insecure at the moment in regards to my writing. It's left me feeling pretty confident, so I'm going to enjoy the feeling until it passes. After all, it's not often we writers feel this way. If you're having a lapse in insecurity, my advice would be to enjoy it with me!

How are your insecurities this month? Leaving you alone or sitting on your shoulder like an annoying pest? What's your answer to the monthly question? Can to join me for Trick-or-Treat Reads?

PS: It's my brother's birthday today. He would have been 44 today. Happy birthday, Big Bro. I miss you. <3

I like being at home to write too. I'm easily distracted. :-)

I get too self conscious to write anywhere else.

It's always nice when things feel good. Hold on to the feeling as long as you can. I find that when I'm feeling good, good things come my way.

I'm with you. I've carefully crafted the perfect writing spot (perfect for me, at least) in my home. Trying to write anywhere else just doesn't make sense anymore.

It's not much of a crafted writing spot for me. Just the couch. =)

I'm another for writing at home, or maybe a quiet coffee shop.

I also share your feeling of confidence in being a writer just now (equally as long as I don't look at my sales). It's fun to feel competent!

I used to work at a coffee shop so that is far from the ideal place to write for me.

Oooh. I have one I plan to do a perma-free on. I'll have to see if I can get it ready to share by then. Yay! Extra motivation.

Distractions are my enemy, so I should probably write in a closet with no windows.

Good for you for not being insecure this month! And I like to be alone to write, too. At the very least, I need quiet.

I don't need quiet, but I can't just write to any noise. It hasn't be something that I can tune out.

There are so many distractions at home. I actually find it easier to write when I'm away from chores, games, pets, etc. And that doesn't even include my (human) family.

My biggest worry is that even though the kids are starting school tomorrow, that something will come up to stop me from writing--either an actual emergency or some petty problem.

Being home alone is a great time to write. That doesn't happen to me very often, but after my son heads off to school in the morning, everyone else is asleep and that's almost as good as being alone.

Yup, sleeping family works just the same as writing alone. Unless your family snores loudly.

So glad to hear you had such a great month! I hope it keeps rolling along through September. As to August sales, I've heard from other authors that August is the dead month in that area. So, onward bound!

If I'm at home, then I need to make sure nobody else is, otherwise I can't write. But my husband often thwarts me, because he's all "you have the day off, we should go out to lunch!" and then it eats up my time and I spend more time in transit and with him than actually writing. *sigh*

Congrats on a productive August! Home alone really is the best place for me. Travel is stressful and time-consuming. As much as I cherish the experiences I've had, I'm always so happy to just be back in my own space.

Hugs re: your brother's birthday. I hope it wasn't too painful for you...I can't even imagine.

I'd love to participate in Trick or Treat reads, but I have so much going on in October, I'm terrified I'd forget. I'll go to your other site and read more, see if I can make it happen.

And congrats on having an awesome writing month!
